Mini Course III. Working with Professional Organizations

Mini Course Information

Professional organizations and societies inform family planning policy by issuing position statements supporting evidence-based family planning and abortion care, participating in amicus briefs in lawsuits, and supporting the advocacy and policy engagement of their members. This mini course describes the importance of working with professional organizations and societies, and offers strategies for OB/GYN resident learners to engage in this work during residency and throughout their careers.

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the critical role of OB/GYN professional organizations and societies in informing and advancing evidence-based reproductive health policy and amplifying the physician voice
  • Identify opportunities to engage with OB/GYN professional organizations and societies, both during residency and beyond
