Learners will become familiar with shared values that guide the course content, the importance of language, and begin to reflect on their own experience as a professional participant in child welfare reporting.
Theresa is a First Nations Native Woman of the Nayashingaming Indian Reservation (also known as Chippewas of Naswash) in Ontario Canada. She has both professional and personal experience with the child welfare system. She currently serves the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe and has for 20+ years. Since a young age, she knew she had a helping spirit, and wanted to use her tools to empower women’s voices. Her knowledge of intergenerational trauma and resilience allows her to build strong therapeutic alliance and build a safe place for healing.
