Welcome to your four-week Family Planning rotation!

This rotation is made possible through a grant from the Ryan Residency Training Program.  The Kenneth J. Ryan Residency Training Program in Abortion and Family Planning is a national program coordinated from the Bixby Center at the University of California, San Francisco. The program was founded in 1999 to increase and strengthen training opportunities in abortion and contraception for residents in obstetrics and gynecology, and to encourage and support residents’ exposure to evidence-based clinical care and research in the field of family planning.

Cooper was awarded the Ryan Residency Training Program grant in February 2020, allowing the Family Planning clinic and residency rotation to expand.  Since December 2019, Cooper operates a dedicated Family Planning Clinic at the Jaffe Family Women’s Care Center on Wednesday mornings, providing services including IUD/implant placements, medication abortion, and presurgical visits.  Cooper offers abortion and miscarriage surgical procedures on Thursdays.  Cooper collaborates with the Cherry Hill Women’s Center to provide abortion care as well as enhance resident training on Tuesdays.

In these modules, you will learn about the importance of abortion training and provision of care.  Please complete one module by the end of each week of your rotation.  Please reach out to me if you have any questions.

I look forward to working with you!
