Welcome to the Family Planning Rotation at Feminist Center for Reproductive Liberation/Wellstar Kennestone Hospital (WSK)! This curriculum reflects required pretests, modules, and posttests to support your clinical training at Feminist Center for Reproductive Liberation. Click the prior link to learn more about this incredible reproductive health, rights, and justice organization!

Modules within this curriculum include key topics from the Ryan Residency Curriculum, and the content will be spread over your three months where you’ll spend time on the Family Planning rotation. Key focus areas include ethical and clinical management of early pregnancy loss, medical abortion, first and second trimester abortion, and contraception. Additional topics include reproductive justice, structural competency, and care for trans and gender expansive communities. Additionally, there is content regarding the provision and management of patient’s seeking abortion in states or communities where abortion is highly restricted or inaccessible like ours.

It is my goal to create a supportive, inclusive environment for all residents, regardless of personal political views, religious beliefs, or ethical frameworks regarding abortion. Whether or not you intend to provide abortion in your future clinical practice, this curricular content is required learning for all obstetric and gynecologist resident trainees. I welcome discussion of these topics or possible challenges at any time.

As always, please feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns as you navigate the curriculum.
