This videos series, created in partnership with the ACOG LARC Program, covers a variety of clinical topics related to the provision of Long Acting Reversible Contraceptive (LARC) methods.
Objectives:
- Know contraindications to intrauterine contraception.
- Name all elements needed to obtain informed consent.
- Understand how to counsel patients about contraception using a shared decision-making framework.
- Review steps for insertion and removal of 5 different intrauterine devices (IUDs) and the subdermal implant.
- Describe methods for reducing pain during and after IUD insertion.
- Review techniques for difficult IUD and implant removal and indications for referral.
