Welcome to the UIC Complex Family Planning Rotation and your online education course for the rotation.
- This course has been designed to enhance your Family Planning prowess and to comply with the standards of a Ryan Residency Training Program.
- The Pre Rotation and 6 Rotation modules are mandatory to complete over the course of your Family Planning Rotation.
- Sections marked with an * are required for completion, other sections are supplementary and should be completed according to your time and interest (ie residents considering CFP Fellowship are encouraged to complete supplementary sections).
- Each module is designed to take between 2-5 hrs to complete and 1 module should be completed each week. (Sub-Is are expected to complete 2 modules per week in order to finish all modules during their rotation).
Schedule:
- Thursday 8-9am: Each week the CFP Fellow or Faculty will have an in-person discussion of a selection of articles from your readings prior to clinic.
- There is an assigned article or case study for the UIC Resident, Loyola Resident, Sub-I, and M3. Each member is expected to arrive on Thursday morning prepared to summarize the assigned reading and provide a critique or additional questions.
- Since the rotators overlap at alternating weeks, we will defer to the UIC Resident week number for the readings. All team members should proceed in order from Module I to Module VI *except* for the assigned readings.
- It is the responsibility of all members of the team to check in with the UIC Resident every Monday to confirm which module we will discuss on Thursday. If the UIC Resident Rotator is absent, or if a new resident rotator would result in a repeat discussion of articles for other members of the team, please ask the fellow for clarification.
*Timely completion of modules and arriving prepared to discuss your assigned readings will be part of your evaluation for the Family Planning rotation. Anyone soliciting a letter from Dr. Hinz or Dr. Fleisher should have completed their assignments on time and expect a discussion of their preparation and timeliness to be included in their letter.*
